Betty L. (Lydick) O’Neill, 86, formerly of Wandin, PA, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Rustic Manor Personal Care Home, Indiana, PA.
The daughter of John C. and Elsie (Russell) Lydick, she was born on July 15, 1930 in Green Township, Indiana Co., PA.
Betty was a woman of great faith, who had actively been involved in local churches.
A well-known member of her community, from 1950 through 1978 Betty and her late husband, Paul, owned and operated O’Neill’s Service Station and Mercantile in Wandin, PA. Betty assisted her husband, Paul, as he served as the Green Township Tax Collector from 1970 until his death in 1978. Following his death, Betty was appointed tax collector and served the residents of Green Township as their tax collector from 1978 through 1995.
Betty was a kindhearted woman, who possessed an excellent wit. Some of her favorite interests revolved around spending time in the outdoors doing yardwork and going on drives.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Wilkins and husband Michael of Clymer, PA; her daughter-in-law, Susan Domaruk of Darnestown, MD and her three grandchildren: Stephen Wilkins of Red Lion, PA; Stephanie Wilkins and husband Doug Sciotto of Philipsburg, PA and Devin O’Neill of Darnestown, MD.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Melvin “Paul” O’Neill and Carlton H. Wilt; her son, Edward P. O’Neill and her two brothers: Edward A. Hooley and John Lydick, Jr.
Family and friends will be received from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 and again from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will take place on Friday morning following the visitation. Rev. August B. Twigg will officiate. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Indiana, PA.
Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
The O’Neill family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Rustic Manor Personal Care Home for their exceptional care and kindness towards Betty during her residence at the home.

We'll do our typical picnic and sparklers thing!
We're traveling to some great U.S. historical sites, such as Philadelphia or Washington, D.C.
Nothing special. Just a typical weekend at our house.
