Magdalena S. (Mallari) Powell, 75, of Coral, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Hempfield Manor, Greensburg, PA.
The daughter of Domingo and Alejandra (Santos) Mallari, she was born July 6, 1941 in the Philippines.
Mrs. Powell was a very active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral site, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Christian Mothers. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Coral-Graceton Fire Company.
She worked 27 years at Breeze Industrial Products Corporation, Tunnelton, retiring in 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Denny L. Long of Tennessee and Greg M. Long and his wife, Mary of Apollo and one grandchild, Dillon Long.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James R. Powell on October 6, 2002.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral site, with Fr. Andres C. Gumangan as celebrant.
Interment will be in Luther Chapel Cemetery, Coral, PA.

Pennsylvania is one of fifteen states that does not require any form of identification in order to vote. Meanwhile, eight states require photo ID in order to vote with no exceptions. What should Pennsylvania do?
