The Pirates had the day off yesterday, their only off day of the compressed Spring Training. The Bucs return to action today in Bradenton against the Boston Red Sox. Mitch Keller, the Pirates’ most impressive pitcher so far in Spring Training, will get his third start.
On Indiana In the Morning yesterday, Pirates broadcaster Greg Brown says Keller has the stuff, and may finally have the confidence, to become the pitcher the Pirates have always thought he would be.
Keller has not allowed a run in 4-and-two-thirds innings on the mound so far this spring and has been throwing his fastball in the upper nineties.
Gametime today is 1:05. We’re on the air on WCCS at 1.

As expected Albert Pujols yesterday signed a one-year contract to play his last season with his original team, the St. Louis Cardinals. And the Minnesota Twins signed former Pirate Chris Archer to a one-year deal.
