The Indiana 14U softball team returned home last night to a hero’s welcome through town after their third-place finish at the Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington. The third-place award came after they beat the Philippines 12-1 Saturday afternoon in a five-inning mercy-rule shortened game. Ella Worthington had a one-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking two. Indiana racked up one run in the first and third, three runs in the second, then seven in the bottom of the 4th.
