Rain forced the Steelers to work indoors yesterday, postponing the action in pads and sending home a bunch of frustrated fans. Coach Mike Tomlin says the team felt player safety was more important than working in adverse conditions.
Tomlin has been asked multiple times about Aaron Rodgers’ workload, and he answered that question again yesterday, saying Rodgers, and other vets like Jalen Ramsey, will get what they need to be ready and the team can get more work for younger players.
The coach says it’s early in camp, but he already sees a lot to like in Jalen Ramsey.
Tomlin also said he expects tackle Broderick Jones to return to action today after he left the field during Sunday’s practice.
The Steelers yesterday signed three players. Running back Lew Nichols led the nation in rushing while playing for Central Michigan. Tight end Kevin Foelsch played college ball at Division II New Haven. Defensive tackle Domenique Davis played in DII at UNC Pembroke and spent the offseason with the Steelers before being released last week.
