Nick Joseph Sansonetti, 93, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at his home.
The son of Pacifico and Assunta (Fiocca) Sansonetti, he was born November 6, 1923 in Blairsville, PA.
Mr. Sansonetti was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, where he sang in the men’s choir, member of the Italian Club and a life member of the Blairsville Fire Company.
He graduated from Blairsville High School in 1941 and was a US Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Sansonetti worked at Blairsville Westinghouse for 32 years, retiring in 1987 and worked with his daughter at Sanso’s Deli for 38 years.
Surviving are four daughters, Gerri Fossetta of Blairsville; Bonnie Sansonetti of Bethesda, MD; Mary Lee Harris (Forrest) of Blairsville and Lisa Grumbling (Kenneth) of Blairsville; three grandchildren, Tracy Kriklava, Tina Fossetta and Nicolette Harris; three great-great grandchildren, Tyler Kieran, Madison Kriklava and Isabella Kriklava; brother, Joseph Sansonetti (Lula) of Sachse, TX and his special canine friend, Sid.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret (Upton) Sansonetti in 1997 and a brother, F.E. Sansonetti in 1945.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Monday. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 1:30 P.M. in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant.
Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
