The Blairsville Rotary club has donated to the Blairsville Parks and Recreation department to update and replace broken and outdated playground equipment and add some new equipment to the park.

The equipment that was donated to the park near the rec center includes an “egg whirler” spinning ride, a zig-zag balance beam, a pebble path, two spring-mounted bouncing bugs named Harry Hopper and Bumbling Bailey, and a Rockwell Teeter Duo spring-mounted see-saw. The new attractions are now in place at the park.
This continues a long-standing tradition of the Rotary supporting the rec center, including providing funds to help open the Community Park; funding for the pavilion, basketball court and skate park; and providing money to acquire playground mulch and the metal roof on the center itself.
