No injuries were reported in a fire that broke out just before noon on Friday in Smicksburg.
Indiana County 911 summoned fire crews from Marion Center, Plumville, Rural Valley and Dayton along with Citizens Ambulance and the Indiana County Rapid Intervention Team at 11:37 AM for the reported structure fire at 2225 Wells Road. Creekside and Perry Township fire crews would be called out later on. According to initial reports, the two-story residential structure had flames showing by the time firefighters arrived. It was also initially reported that there was no electricity in the house.

Fire officials confirmed that the fire was at the home of an Amish family, and the fire had started on the second floor of the house due to a natural gas-powered lamp.
