Drillers coach Mitch Pacconi says his team played great baseball in the regional, especially in the 1-0 walkoff win Sunday over Armstrong.
Pacconi says the Drillers were sharp on offense, defense, and on the mound for the entire tournament.
Pacconi says the Drillers are comfortable in close games like the win over Armstrong, and a lot of it has to do with the state-championship winning run by the Indiana High team, for which many of his guys played.
S.W. Jack will open the state tournament Saturday morning at 9 AM in Berwick, taking on the Region 2 champion Hamburg Reds.
