Jonathan “John” Richard Johnson, 61, of Arcadia, PA died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 11, 2025.
The son of Gilbert Zane and Norma Jean (Bartlebaugh) Johnson, he was born on December 9, 1963 in Indiana, PA.
John had attended Purchase Line High School. He was the owner of JRJ Construction company for over twenty-five years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. John enjoyed cutting his grass and spending time outdoors. He thoroughly loved spending time with his sons, his grandkids and his Great Dane, Casper.
John is survived by his fiancé: Mariah Knisley; his two sons: Jason R. Johnson and wife Amanda of Indiana, PA and Jonathan W. Johnson and wife Rebekah of Clinton Twp., MI; his bonus children: Kayla Weed of Meyersdale, PA; Ricky Knisley and wife Amanda of Northern Cambria, PA; his ten grandchildren: Elizabeth; Wade; Luke; Abel; Hannah; Rylee; Brody; Robert; Jaylynn and Aubrey; his siblings: Chuck Johnson and wife Joyce of Sidman, PA; Victor Johnson of Bentleyville, PA; Jack Johnson and wife Pamela of Glen Campbell, PA; Barb Miller of Indiana, PA and Terry Johnson of Cherry Tree, PA and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law: William Johnson Sr. and Deb (Pardee) Johnson and Sherry Blatt, the mother of his children.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 16, 2025 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Interment will take place at Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA.
