Ellwood Paul “Woody” Varner, Jr., 67, of Hillsdale, PA, passed away on July 11, 2025.
Born on December 13, 1957, in Conemaugh, PA, Woody was the son of Ellwood and Adeline (Hallow) Varner. He graduated from Purchase Line High School in 1976 and went on to run the family dairy farm alongside his father—continuing the work for many years after his father’s passing. After selling the farm, Woody worked at Greensteel until its closure, and later as a CDL driver until his retirement. He will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Adelyn Varner and Renee (Varner) Lash. He is survived by his sister Paula Varner of Indiana, PA; brother-in-law Joseph Lash of Indiana, PA; nephew Alex Lash and his wife,Tomoyo, of Tacoma, WA; and niece Andrea Lash of Pittsburgh, PA.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. Arrangements are with the assistance of the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA.
