The Indiana County Commissioners this morning approved more settlements connected with the opioid crisis.
The settlements were made with the Purdue Pharma-Bankruptcy program, the Sackler Family and eight other pharmaceutical companies. The money received from those settlements will go to the county for opioid-related causes. Bob Marcus has represented the county in these matters over the last eight to 10 years, and he said that after today’s action, there’s one settlement left.
The commissioners also approved a sewer replacement contract with Ray I. Winters and Sons of Indiana for the Dixonville Commons Building. The excavation and installation of about 140 feet of sewer pipe will cost $25,150, which will be covered by Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant and Platinum Visual Solutions funds.
