A major milestone in the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport expansion project.
On Tuesday, the final steel beam was put in place on the terminal expansion. That beam was signed by airport officials and other local leaders. Construction had been delayed for three months after delays in the delivery of steel needed for the project.
This is just a part of the first phase of the $28 million expansion project that will hopefully bring additional commercial airlines to the facility with expanded capacity and making the boarding process easier, especially for those who are disabled. Phase two is expected to start next May with the final phase to begin in 2027.
