The price of gas is continuing to go down in Pennsylvania and across the nation.
After a sharp jump in prices a few weeks ago, the national average cost of a gallon of gas has gone down to $4.23 a gallon. While it’s unchanged since yesterday that average is five cents lower than where it was last week at this time. Gas prices on average are still higher from last month, when it was $3.54 a gallon.
Pennsylvania’s average price this morning, according to Triple A, is $4.31 a gallon. That is virtually unchanged from yesterday, but the average was five cents higher last week. Last month, gas prices were $3.70 a gallon on average.
Indiana County’s average has also gone down to $4.30 a gallon. Comparing Indiana County to surrounding areas, Cambria County’s average is one cent lower at $4.29 a gallon. Westmoreland and Armstrong counties tie with Indiana at $4.30 a gallon each. Then some jumps are seen to the North and Northeast of Indiana County, with Jefferson County at $4.33 a gallon and Clearfield County at $4.36 a gallon.
The highest county-wide average in Pennsylvania is in the Northeast corner in Wayne County, which is at $4.40 a gallon. Lancaster County’s average is $4.24 a gallon this morning, making it the lowest in the state.
According to Gasbuddy.com, gas prices in Indiana and Clymer this morning are $4.29 a gallon. In Homer City and Blairsville gas prices are four cents cheaper at $4.25 a gallon.
