On the final full day of spring, strong rain storms once again hit Indiana County, but the damage was not as severe as last time.
There were some reports of trees coming down blocking local roads in Lucerne and other areas of Indiana County, and some of the tress have brought down power lines as well. This included Chambersville Road, which was closed yesterday as Penelec crews were replacing some downed lines. Officials with the utility company say at the height of the storms, about 1400 customers were affected. As of this morning, just a handful of customers are without power due to trees coming down in the Jacksonville and Saltsburg areas. Power restoration is expected by 11:00 this morning.
REA Energy says they are not experiencing any service interruptions at this time.
