One person was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.
The Westmoreland County Coroner’s office identified the victim as 36-year-old Jennifer Krinock. She died in the crash that was reported at 2:54 PM at the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and Pandora Road. Coroner Timothy Carson said that Krinock was driving her Acura RSX west on Industrial Boulevard when an unknown person driving a Toyota Camry failed to obey a traffic control device and tried to turn left onto Industrial Boulevard from Pandora Road. Krinock’s car collided with the Camry in a T-bone style collision. EMT’s responded quickly, but Krinock died a little over two and a half hours later at Excela Health Latrobe hospital.
An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow by Dr. Cyril Wecht. Police say that Krinock was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but other factors like speeding and cell phone use are not known at this time. State Police from the Kiski Barracks continue to investigate the crash.
