Gas prices across the state and the nation continue their steady decline.
According to Triple-A, the national average dropped another penny over the last 24 hours to $4.26 a gallon. Last week at this time, the national average was $4.32 a gallon. Pennsylvania’s average also dropped by a penny to $4.33 a gallon. Last week, the statewide average was $4.42 a gallon. However, there are concerns that gas prices could go up again, as the price of crude oil went over $100 a barrel, closing at $105.10 per barrel at the end of trading on Friday.
Indiana County’s average is below the state-wide average by two cents at $4.31 a gallon. Comparing Indiana County to the surrounding counties, Armstrong County remains the lowest at $4.29 a gallon; Westmoreland County is next highest at $4.30 a gallon. Both Cambria and Jefferson Counties have an average of $4.33 a gallon, while Clearfield County has the highest in the region at $4.36 a gallon.
Chester County has the lowest county-wide average at $4.26 a gallon, while Pike County remains the highest at $4.48 a gallon.
Gas prices for the most part in Indiana County remain at the $4.29 a gallon level, except for the E-Z Mart on Ben Franklin Road in Indiana, where gas is $4.26 a gallon. The Kwik Fill stations in Homer City and Clymer and the VP fuels station in Blairsville are higher at $4.39 a gallon.
