The Indiana County Transit Authority is set for a change of leadership.
Executive Director John Kanyan has announced his upcoming retirement on June 30th after 38 and a half years with the agency. Kanyan’s career with IndiGO began in 1986. He served in multiple roles before assuming the position of Executive Director in 2008. Under his leadership, the agency achieved several major milestones, including the broadening of Shared Ride services for seniors and individuals with disabilities, helping to ensure greater access to essential transportation throughout the county. Kanyan also oversaw the $12.5 million expansion of IndiGO’s headquarters on Saltsburg Avenue in White Township.
Kanyan says that his experience at the agency has been “incredible”, and he has enjoyed every year he spent there.
IndiGO’s Board of Directors has appointed Brenda Hill, the agency’s current Deputy Director, as the new Executive Director. Hill began at IndiGO in 2010, and has extensive experience in operations, and an understanding of the agency’s mission and the people it serves.
