An IUP graduate from Westmoreland County continues to support his alma mater.
Dennis Popovec, a 1977 business and accounting graduate of IUP, has continued his support to the university through the Popovec Outstanding Student Athlete Scholarship. He was an outstanding athlete on IUP’s track and field team and had a 40-year career in financial leadership roles following his graduation. He remains active in the IUP community, serving the Athletics Advancement Council.
Popovec says that his goal in establishing the scholarship was to help students with backgrounds like his “find their way to successful careers and life experiences”.
The scholarship is available to full-time students in the Eberly College of Business who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who are an active member of an NCAA recognized IUP athletic team who are experiencing financial need.
