The American Legion post 141 hosted its annual Memorial Day wreath ceremony honoring veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Veterans and community members alike gathered in Memorial Park to pay tribute to fallen veterans. Fellow soldiers and veterans placed wreathes around the statue in the center of the park for each major conflict, from the Revolutionary War to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The ceremony was a powerful reminder of the cost of freedom, as everyone gathered took time to remember not only their fallen comrades, but all who have served and never returned.
Post 141 Commander Wesley Wertz says that ceremonies such as this are a reminder that it’s a day to “remember those who had fallen for the freedoms of our country.”.
