Brush fires are once again beginning to pop up as the weather gets warmer.
Indiana County 911 reports that two brush fires were reported on Wednesday. The first was at 12:46 PM at a location along Hoffman Road in Brush Valley Township. Brush Valley and Homer City fire fighters were dispatched at the time. The other was in Armstrong Township, as the Indiana Fire Association was dispatched to Parkview Lane at 2:37 PM.
Few details are available on these incidents. This brings the total number of brush fires this year so far up to four.
Fire companies were busy with other calls over the last 24 hours, including the Aultman Volunteer Fire Department setting up a landing zone along Route 286 West in Center Township at 1:45 PM, the Blairsville and Black Lick fire departments investigating a gas leak along North Morrow Street in Blairsville Borough at 5:53 PM, and an EMS assist call for Clymer firefighters at 4:49 this morning at a property along Sherman Street.
