On Monday night, the Indiana School Board heard an update on the Eisenhower project.
District Superintendent Michael Vuckovich said that the district is still in the design and development phase, but Vuckovich said that they hope to open the school in 2024, but he did express some worry about supply chain issues and covid-19 related issues possibly pushing the opening back. At next month’s buildings, grounds and transportation committee meeting, it was announced that one of the topics of discussion would be the future use of the Horace Mann elementary school building. Vuckovich gave committee chairman Terry Kerr the credit for his effort to get the public’s opinion on the issue.
In other business, the board authorized the administration to post and advertise for a new assistant athletic director for next school year, and to interview potential candidates. The board also accepted a $5000 donation from Mark Arbuckle to the IHS Science Club for travel, competition and supplies expenses for upcoming statewide science competitions.
The board also hired a new head football coach. Bradley Wright now becomes the coach of the team at a salary of $11,292 a year. Allison Ball was named the new varsity volleyball coach at a salary of $6,128 a year
