Those who use SNAP benefits to get food have an opportunity to replace what was lost due to Tuesday’s storms.
According to a flyer from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, SNAP users are asked to contact their local County Assistance Office, the statewide service center or to fill out a form online stating how much was lost due to natural disaster. The law will allow people to get up to a month’s worth of replacement benefits for the amount of food lost.
The Indiana County Assistance Office can be called toll free at 1-800-742-0679. The state service center’s number is 1-877-395-8930. You can find out more at the state Department of Human Services website.
