A distinguished military graduate of IUP has made a financial gift for the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Lieutenant Colonel Barry Gasdek made the $50,000 donation as part of his continued support of the university he graduated from in 1964 with a degree in education. His $50,000 is part of $32 million in private and government funding for the proposed school. Gasdek and his family have worked in the medical field in various areas, and said that he is aware of the dedication required to properly treat and care for patients.
Gasdek will receive an honorary Doctorate of Public Service at the commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 10th.
