With Spring Training finally underway in Bradenton, Florida, the Pirates yesterday claimed left-handed reliever Aaron Fletcher off waivers from Seattle. The move completed the Bucs’ forty-man roster. Fletcher is 26 and was 0-0 with a 12.38 ERA in eight innings over two seasons with the Mariners. Last year, at Triple-A Tacoma, he was 4-0 with a 3.47 ERA in 49-and-one-third innings over 39 appearances.
The first Pirates exhibition game will be on Friday against the Yankees at LeCom Park in Bradenton.
