The Penguins season ended on a high note against their biggest rival, the Washington Capitals. Paul Steigerwald has the recap.
Everyone was talking about Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin after the game, and each had a goal as they renewed their historic rivalry. Coach Mike Sullivan enjoyed the show.
Bryan Rust was thrilled to reach the thirty-goal plateau.
Rust says Crosby and Ovechkin saved the NHL twenty years ago, and watching the two of them go head-to-head is great fun.
With another win over the Capitals, Crosby is 42-27-4 all-time in head-to-head matchups with Ovechkin. The season ends with the Penguins next-to-last in the Metro Division, ahead of only the Flyers, and they were thirteenth in the Eastern Conference, beating out only the Flyers, Bruins, and Sabres.
