On Monday, the Center Township Supervisors approved advertising an amendment that would increase fees associated with building permits.
Under the proposed amendment, the new construction permit fee for a new home would be $50; permits for residential outbuildings, garages, or structural additions would cost $25; a residential remodeling permit would cost $25; commercial permits would cost between $50 to $250 and any demolition or structural removal permit would cost $10. Supervisor Matt Housholder said that the fees had not been increased in nearly 22 years.
The supervisors also adopted resolutions to increase fees for municipal lien letters from $5 to $10 and to increase fees for tax certification statements from $10 to $20.
In other business, the supervisors approved the purchase a paver for $98,230, a dump truck for $89,784 and a truck for $57,475 and a dump bed and plowing accessories for $35,765. The supervisors will use a combination of Covid-19 money and money from the sale or trade of other vehicles to pay for the vehicles.
