Indiana County Rugby’s Colden Augustine has been named PA Rugby’s Round 2 High School Boys Player of the Week for his performance in a come-from-behind 38-28 win over North Pitt on March 23rd. Colden is a senior at Indiana High.
The announcement from PA Rugby:
Congratulations to our Round 2 High School Boys Player of the Week, Colden Augustine from Indiana County.
Colden is a co-captain of the Indiana County Warriors. On Sunday against North Pitt, he put in a typically strong performance, helping to will his team back from an early 14-0 deficit to a 38-28 win. Colden carried the ball strongly the entire match, punching holes in tight, creating space out wide, and making numerous line breaks. Although he did not score, he played an integral role in several of the Indiana County tries. Colden dominated at the lineout, winning all his own team’s throws, as well as the lion’s share of the opposition throws. Defensively, Colden was immense, making a huge number of tackles. As one of the Indiana County co-captains, Colden ensured his team stayed mentally focused through their early adversity and helped adapt the game plan to exert pressure on the opposition in attack and in defense. Colden is a significant cog in a strong Indiana County team.
Indiana lost at Moon Area yesterday, 22-21.
