The Pirates’ Trevor Williams threw six shutout innings, extending his scoreless inning streak to 17, as the Bucs beat the Mets, 5-0 Saturday night. Pittsburgh broke through against Mets ace Jacob deGrom with a Colin Moran RBI single in the 6th. Adm Frazier and Gregory Polanco were both 3-for-4 for the Pirates.
The Pirates placed outfielder Cory Dickerson and first baseman Josh Bell on the disabled list yesterday, recalling Austin Meadows and Jose Osuna from the minors to replace them.
Altoona’s Jordan George had four singles and Cole Tucker homered and doubled as the Curve crushed Binghampton, 10-2. The four game series comes to a close Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Altoona.
At Steelers’ training camp Saturday in Latrobe, guard Ramon Foster was carted off the field with a knee injury.
