FIRE MARSHALS RULE FIRE AT WEST MAHONING MUNICIPAL BUILDING NOT SUSPICIOUS

State police Fire Marshals are saying that the fire that destroyed the West Mahoning Township Municipal Building on Wednesday night was not suspicious in nature, but the exact cause is undetermined.

Fire crews from Dayton, Marion Center, Plumville and Rural Valley fire departments were dispatched at 10:44 Wednesday night for the fire at the building along Chestnut Street in Smicksburg Borough.  The building and its contents, which included some machinery, were destroyed by the fire.  Plumville and Dayton fire departments returned to the scene Thursday morning as the fire rekindled.

The estimated loss is around $1 million.  The structure was insured, and fire marshals report no injuries in the incident.
