A three-run first inning gave the Altoona Curve the cushion they needed as they beat the Erie Seawolves 4-2 Saturday Night in Erie.
Five straight batters reached base in the first inning to get three runs across for the curve in the first, and the fourth run came in as Jordan George worked the pitcher for a bases-loaded walk to put the Curve up 4-1. Austin Coley, who pitched for the first time since May, worked three scoreless innings, notching 2 strikeouts and allowing two hits. Tate Scioneaux was credited with the win, and Matt Eckelman picked up his third save of the season.
The Curve and Seawolves wrap up the series today.
