Former IUP basketball standout Bob Kalp has been named the Flo Softball National Coach of the Year.
Kalp has coached at Hempfield High School for 22 seasons and lead the Spartans to the WPIAL and PIAA Championships this season.
Kalp played for Herm Sledzik at IUP and was the team’s leading scorer during the 1965-66 season.
