The Penguins’ two newest players, forward Connor Dewar and defenseman Conor Timmins, are expected to be in the lineup this afternoon when the team skates in Minnesota against the Wild. Dewar and Timmins were acquired from Toronto for a fifth round draft choice on Friday.
The Maple Leafs needed to clear roster and salary cap space at the trade deadline, prompting the trade for such a low price tag. Both Dewar and Timmins will be restricted free agents after this season.
This afternoon’s game (2:30 airtime on WQMU), will be the final chance for Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang to see their one-time running mate Marc-Andre Fleury on the ice with them. Fleury will retire after this season. He is expected between the pipes for the game.
