Two people involved in a drug trafficking operation that went through Indiana County entered guilty pleas in federal court this week.
Acting US Attorney Troy Rivetti announced on Thursday that 39-year-old Kevin Johnson of Johnstown pleaded to one count while 47-year-old Mikal Davis of Philadelphia pleaded guilty to three counts connected with the investigation in 2021 that resulted in indictments for 31 people from Pennsylvania, California and Delaware. The group reportedly tried to distribute crack, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and meth through the region from April of 2019 to July of 2021. Rivetti also said that Davis was the ringleader of the group’s activities in Philadelphia and Johnstown and travelled between the two areas making drug deliveries which were then stored in “stash houses”.
Sentencing for both is set for June 26th. Johnson faces a sentence of five to 40 years in prison, a fine of up to $5 million or both, while Davis faces up to $10 million in fines and/or ten years to life in prison.
