Paul Skenes gave up two earned runs in three-plus innings last night as the Pirates beat the Orioles in Sarasota, 9-5. Skenes walked two and struck out three as he threw 63 pitches in his second outing of the spring.
He says his second Pirates spring training is different than his first one was, when he had a longer buildup period to get ready for his first full pro season.
Liover Peguero homered for the Pirates. Endy Rodruguez had three hits and Isaiah Kiner-Falefa had two.
Jared Jones pitches for the Pirates today against the Phillies. The game airs on WCCS at 1 o’clock.
Manager Derek Shelton has told reporters that Adam Frazier has been dealing with a back injury but is expected to get back to playing this weekend. Frazier last played February 26th.
