The PSAC playoffs ended early for both IUP teams, but the women have a chance to keep playing ball in the Atlantic Regional.
At Edinboro, the comeback came up just short for IUP women. Todd Marino recaps the close loss.
For the young IUP men’s team, a trip to Gannon, where the Hawks were close to the top seed through the first half, but ultimately couldn’t keep up. Jack Benedict has the story.
The women’s Atlantic Region rankings released yesterday have IUP ranked third behind Edinboro and Seton Hill, with Gannon fourth, followed by Fairmont State, Fayetteville State, Virginia State, Kutztown, Cal, and Lock Haven. Eight teams will make the field, but with Gannon, Kutztown, and Lock Haven all having won last night, Fairmont State still to play tonight, and Fayetteville State idle after already winning its conference title over Virginia State, IUP will have to anxiously wait out the weekend, hoping for a slot in the playoff field.
