PennDOT is reminding motorcycle owners that their bikes can now be inspected year-round.
Act 149 of 2024 was signed into effect by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro last November and the law went into effect on January 17th. Before then, motorcycle inspections could only be done between March and November. Motorcycles, like cars, must be inspected annually, and with the expansion to year-round inspections, PennDOT Deputy Secretary for Driver and Vehicle Services Kara Templeton said that it will give bike owners more opportunities to schedule the inspection at their convenience.
PennDOT estimates about 355,000 motorcycles are registered in Pennsylvania.
