More than 100 people filled the Indiana County Courthouse lobby Thursday afternoon to honor K-9 Officer Kort, who died last week at PearlBlue Pet Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Kort played a pivotal role in assisting sheriff’s deputies with detecting narcotics and tracking, while also appearing at area schools for drug awareness programs.
An emotional Sheriff Bob Fyock said Kort was more than just his partner-in-crime.
Fyock added that Kort stayed loyal to his job and to everyone around him.
Kort’s remains will stay at Fyock’s house, right next to those of K-9 Bak, who passed away in 2020.
