The average cost of gasoline across Pennsylvania and the United States is continuing to increase amid the invasion of Ukraine.
The national average, according to Triple A is now $3.59 a gallon. Crude oil prices jumped briefly over $100 a barrel over the last few days and hovering in the mid-to-upper $90 a barrel level over the last few days. If the situation in Ukraine continues, some experts say that gas prices could go to $4.00 a gallon in a few weeks.
Pennsylvania’s average went up to $3.75 a gallon since Tuesday, which is just a two-cent increase over that time. It does represent a 24-cent jump over the last month.
Indiana County’s average is $3.70 a gallon, which is one of the lower averages in the state. Armstrong County’s average remains not just the lowest in our region, but the lowest in the state at $3.64 a gallon. Westmoreland County has a $3.65 per gallon average. Jefferson County is $3.73 a gallon, Cambria County reported a $3.74 per gallon average, and Clearfield has the highest in the region at $3.76 a gallon. Wyoming and Pike tied with the highest county-wide average at $3.81 a gallon.
Gas Prices in Indiana, Homer City, Blairsville, Shelocta and Clymer as of this morning is $3.69 a gallon. The lowest price is actually at VP Racing Fuels in Blairsville at $3.67 a gallon.
