State police are continuing to investigate a shooting that happened in nearby Cambria County Monday morning.
Police say that the victim of the shooting, a 71-year-old man from Hastings, is continuing to receive medical treatment at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for life-threatening injuries he suffered in the incident. Police had said that their suspect, an un-named 40-year-old man from Ebensburg, was involved in an altercation with the victim when the shot was fired. The suspect was taken into custody on Monday, and was later released pending further investigation.
As of this morning, charges have not been filed in this case against either individual, and the incident remains an active investigation. Once the investigation is complete, the information gathered will be turned over to the Cambria County DA’s office for review.
