Preliminary hearings are scheduled for today in Indiana Court for two people charged with breaking into skill game machines in Blairsville Borough earlier this year.
Hearings are set for 10:00 this morning for Clifford Camut, Jr. of Johnstown and Brittany Arcurio of Robinson. The two were charged by Blairsville Borough Police with breaking into two skill game machines inside the Blue Diamond on East Market Street on January 28th and making off with $1400 in cash. Police used video surveillance to identify the two.
After the two were apprehended earlier this month, they were placed in Indiana County Jail on $10,000 bail each. The two will go before District Judge Robert Bell Sr. for their hearings.
Preliminary hearings and a summary trial are also on the docket today for a man charged with robbing a convenience store in Armagh. State police have charged 27-year-old Nicholas Empfield of Blairsville with felony robbery and aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault, theft and receiving stolen property and with summary harassment for an incident on January 7th where he went to the One-Stop service station at 6:18 AM, demanding money from the teller. He allegedly assaulted her, and as he shoved her, she hit her head off a counter. He then took nearly $1900 from the PA lottery register before fleeing.
Police also say he stole from the same store in a separate incident in December. In his summary trial, he faces a charge of driving on a suspended license. His hearings will start at 10:45 AM before Judge Bell.
