With their NCAA Tournament hopes fading, Pitt plays SMU tonight, dragging a three-game losing streak into the game in Dallas.
Coach Jeff Capel says the team is suffering from a lack of confidence right now, and adding to their miseries is the loss of guard Damian Dunn, who is very likely out for the season after fracturing his elbow in Saturday’s game at North Carolina. Freshman Brandon Cummings will be called upon to fill in for Dunn.
Pitt is 14-9, 5-7 in the ACC. SMU is 18-5 and 9-3. Tipoff is at 9 o’clock. The pregame airs at 8:30 on WCCS.
