PENGUINS’ COSTLY MISTAKES LEAD TO LOSS TO ‘CANES.

The Penguins’ defensive breakdowns at the start of the second and third periods were too much to overcome yesterday.

Forward Evan Rodrigues says the Penguins were trying to “be cute” early in the game, but then they adjusted.

The Penguins said yesterday that Teddy Blueger and Drew O’Connor both skated on Sunday morning.  Blueger is recovering from a broken jaw suffered January 23^rd.  O’Connor has not played since January 15^th, before suffering a suspected collapsed lung.  The Pens get a few days off before taking on New Jersey on Thursday night at PPG Paints Arena.  They’ll play three games in four days, with a home game against the New York Rangers on Saturday and at Columbus on Sunday.
