The Homer Center Wildcats, the No. 1 Class A team on the Max Preps top 10, suffered their first loss of the season to the Class AA No. 6 team Serra Catholic, 3-0, yesterday in Homer City.
Nate Davis owned three of Homer-Center’s four hits. Cobe Daugherty pitched well but took the loss for Homer-Center.
The Wildcats open District 6 playoff action Tuesday hosting Bishop Carroll and that game will be heard on WCCS AM 1160 and FM 101.1. Airtime is 3:45 p.m.
In the other playoff match ups, Saltsburg is at Claysburg Kimmel in Class A. Class AA Blairsville travels to Bishop Guilfoyle, and Northern Cambria goes to Southern Huntingdon, while in AAA, Bald Eagle is at West Shamokin and Ligonier Valley travels to Penn Cambria.
In the WPIAL, Indiana takes on West Mifflin Tuesday at Plum High School. All games begin at 4 p.m.
