Phil Thomasino, Sidney Crosby, and Bryan Rust scored goals and Alex Ndeljkovic made 25 saves as the Penguins shut out Nashville, 3-0. It was the Pens’ first game back on home ice after a seven-game West Coast road trip, and it was their second win in a row.
The Penguins also welcomed new acquisitions Danton Heinen and Vincent Desharnais to the ice after their acquisitions from Vancouver. Heinen logged 12:42 of ice time working on the second line and Desharnais was on the ice for 16:17, blocking a team-high four shots while skating on the third defensive pairing with Ryan Graves.
The Penguins will play New Jersey at PPG Paints Arena on Tuesday.
