In high school basketball, North Allegheny defeated the Indiana girls, 51-39 on Saturday. the Tigers started the game on a 15-2 run, but the Indians fought back to cut the lead to 2 at one point late in the third quarter, led by 13 points by Addy Hutton and 10 by Emily Betsinger.
North Allegheny was able to hold off the rally, though, and restored their margin to 12.
Marion Center’s boys continued their hot late-season streak, beating Penns Manor, 66-55. Leading scorers for Marion Center were Kamden Rozier with 23, Ian Kutsch with 17 and Noah McCoy with 13.
With the win, Marion Center jumped into the 10th slot in the District 6 AAA standings. The top eleven teams will make the district playoffs. On the heels of a six-game losing streak, the Stingers have won 6 of their last 7 games and are now 9-11 on the season.
Penns Manor (10-11) fell to eighth in AA. The top seven will make the District 6 AA playoffs.
