Homer-Center‘s push for the second spot in the Heritage Conference West continues, with the Wildcats stopping Purchase Line, 71-39. Max Voyda scored 19 points and Angelo Alexander added 16 for Homer-Center. Jacob Stein led the Red Dragons with 13.
Penns Manor slowed down West Shamokin but couldn’t stop them, with the Wolves prevailing, 39-31. Travis Johns led West Shamokin with 11 points.
Portage and Conemaugh Township are still slugging it out for the top spot in the Heritage East. Both teams are 12-3 in the conference after the Mustangs beat the Indians, 44-40 last night. Township wraps up conference play at United tomorrow night. Portage will host Cambria Heights in their finale. If CT and Portage end up tied, it looks like the third tie-breaker – best record in cross-over conference play – would decide it, and that would give first place to Portage.
United wiped out Conemaugh Valley, 71-46. James Kordish scored 16 for the Lions, Brody Burkett added 14 and Dmitri Worthington 12.
In the WPIAL, Hampton knocked off Indiana, 63-56. Aaron Webb scored 30 points and Stanford Webb 10 for Indiana.

Tonight on Cat Country 106.3 FM and Renda Digital TV, River Valley looks to remain undefeated against tough Marion Center. The Panthers are 20-0, 14-0 in the Heritage Conference. The Stingers 16-4, and 11-3 in the conference.
SWIMMING
Indiana dominated Freeport in the pool, 103-34.
RIFLE
Indiana rifle lost to Woodland Hills by a score of 792-44x to 785-42x. Top shooter for Indiana was Gavin Dicken with a 100-9x. The JV team also lost, 390-11x to 369-9x. Indiana’s top shooter was Wiley Campbell with a 95-2x.
Indiana varsity’s record is 3-7 overall, 2-4 in Section 4. Their next competition will be at Penn Trafford on Thursday, January 30.
