An inmate at SCI Pine Grove was sentenced in Indiana County Court Friday morning for a charge of aggravated harassment.
District Attorney Robert Manzi said 22-year-old Joshua Hall was serving time for a firearms violation out of Erie County in September when he spat on a corrections officer while being escorted within the restrictive housing unit. Hall pleaded guilty to that charge – graded a third-degree felony – on January 8, and he was ordered to serve one to two years in state prison for it.
Manzi thanked officers at SCI Pine Grove for their hard work in a statement, saying they are “tasked with a very difficult job. They provide security, treatment and services for inmates … These men and women do not deserve to be assaulted.”
