Marion Center rolled over Purchase Line, 55-35, led by Macie Miller’s 18 points and Brynnley Haggerty’s 15.
A big win for the United girls in the Heritage Conference East, as they topped first-place Portage, 49-42.
Homer-Center avenged a previous 32-point loss with a 34-31 win over West Shamokin.
Cambria Heights clubbed Conemaugh Valley, 74-35.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Homer-Center took on River Valley in the battle for second place in the Heritage Conference West, and the Wildcats bested the Panthers. Jake Slebodnick has the story. (HC 73 RV 67)
Two first-place Heritage Conference teams met at West Shamokin, with East-leading Portage prevailing over the West-leading Wolves, 54-48.
Marion Center’s boys played out-of-conference and beat Harmony, 73-42, led by Kamden Rozier’s 25 points. Mason Desmond scored 16 and Cameron Pack had 14.
Indiana lost its game to the Kiski School, 71-51.

8th grade Penns Manor 31, River Valley 14

HOCKEY
Luke Rowe stood tall in the net for Indiana, making 48 saves, but first-place Mars still beat the Indians, 2-1 on first period goals by Jack Weaver and Jack Tirch. Indiana was outshot, 50-26. The Indiana goal was scored in the second period by Grayson Brunetto, with an assist by Spencer Hillsberry. Indiana is 7-6 and in sixth place in the Varsity A Blue Division with four games left in the season.
RIFLE
Indiana lost to Hempfield by a score of 798-52x to 788-41x. Top shooters for Indiana were Emelia Campisano with 100-6x and Gavin Dicken with a 100-4x.
The JV team also lost by a score of 399-25x to 379-11x. Top shooter for IHS was Laken Smith with a 97-4x.
