Representatives from several boroughs are expected to attend a meeting later this month to discuss emergency services in the county.
A legal notice sent to Renda Media states that borough councils from Creekside, Ernest, Indiana, Marion Center, Plumville, Saltsburg and Shelocta along with supervisors from Armstrong, Brush Valley, Center, East Wheatfield, Rayne, West Mahoning and West Wheatfield townships will hold a joint meeting on January 30th at 7:00 PM at the Homer Center Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium. Each entity will consider enactment an ordinance “determining to delegate the administration of emergency services to a municipality authority” that will be incorporated in the county. The purpose of the authority is to administer emergency medical services in each of the participating municipalities.
Each ordinance says that the municipality determines that it will benefit from the provision of emergency medical services by the authority, designates the municipality as a service district, the selection of a representative to the authority, and proper officers of the municipality are authorized to do such acts to carry out the enacted ordinance.
Copies of the proposed ordinance are on display at each municipality’s office for examination.
